Privacy Policy

The short version: PayUtility runs entirely in your browser. We don't collect your payment amounts, we don't sell data. The site is free and funded by advertising, so this page also explains how ads and analytics work.

Last updated: August 15, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how PayUtility (the "Website", "we", "us") handles information when you visit or use payutility.site. By default, nothing you calculate is ever sent to us.

2. Information we do not collect

All calculators — forward fee, reverse invoice, FX spread, currency converter and PDF invoice builder — run locally in your browser using JavaScript. The amounts, currencies, country presets, invoice details and fee results you enter never leave your device. We do not collect, store or transmit any financial data you input.

3. How the conversion math actually works

To be transparent about the numbers you see, here is exactly how the calculations are produced:

  • Mid-market exchange rates. Your browser makes a single direct request to a public exchange-rate API (open.er-api.com) for live mid-market rates for the currency pair you're viewing. If that request fails, the site falls back to bundled snapshot rates stored inside the page. The only data sent in that request is the currency pair — no personal information.
  • Gateway fee tables. Processing percentages, fixed fees and cross-border surcharges for PayPal, Stripe, Wise, Payoneer and wire transfers come from the providers' published rate cards. They are approximations and change frequently.
  • FX conversion spread. The hidden markup each gateway adds on top of the mid-market rate is an estimate based on typical published values (for example, PayPal is estimated at ~3.9%, Stripe ~1%, Wise ~0.43%). Gateway spreads vary by corridor and over time.
  • Estimates only. Every result is an estimate, not a quote. Always confirm live pricing with your payment provider before relying on any number.

4. How the app works

PayUtility is a static website served from a CDN. All page content and tool logic is delivered as static files; there is no account system and no server that stores your inputs. When you use the site, your browser may contact the following third parties:

  • the exchange-rate API (for live mid-market rates);
  • Google Fonts (to load the typefaces);
  • Google Analytics (aggregate, anonymous usage statistics — see below);
  • Google AdSense (to display advertising — see below);
  • Razorpay (only if you choose to purchase the paid "Pro" plan to remove ads).

5. Advertising — and the no-ads plan

This site is free and supported by advertising. We display third-party advertisements (currently Google AdSense) on many pages so the tools remain free for everyone. Ads may appear as banner or sidebar placements; we deliberately design pages so ads never cover, block or overlap any calculator input or button.

Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. We never pass your calculator inputs or any personal data to advertisers, and we do not sell data to anyone.

If you prefer an ad-free experience, PayUtility offers a one-time, lifetime "Pro" plan that removes all advertising. See the pricing page for details. Purchases are processed securely by Razorpay; we receive only the confirmation that a payment was completed.

6. Cookies

PayUtility itself sets no functional cookies and does not require you to sign up or log in. Third-party services we use (analytics, fonts, advertising, payments) may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser at any time. Ad personalization can also be disabled directly through Google's Ads Settings.

7. Anonymous analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage of the site — for example, which pages are visited and general geographic region. This information is anonymized where possible and is used solely to improve the Website. You can opt out of Google Analytics with a standard opt-out extension or by disabling cookies in your browser.

8. Third-party links

The Website links to external services such as PayPal, Stripe, Wise, Payoneer and Razorpay. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.

9. Children's privacy

The Website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Data security

Because we store no user accounts and no financial data on any server, there is no personal data at rest to secure. All pages are served over HTTPS.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
